About

Built by a filmmaker.
For filmmakers.

Hailo started as a side project to solve one person's workflow problems. It turned out a lot of other people had the same problems.

Wedding filmmaker · Films by Stanton

Cody is a working wedding filmmaker who's been shooting weddings for years under the Films by Stanton banner. Hailo started because he was tired of paying for five different SaaS tools that didn't talk to each other, and even more tired of doing the work those tools were supposed to do.

Hailo's first version was a Python script that watched a folder and auto-trimmed shaky clips out of his wedding footage. The second version added moment classification. The third version became the app you're looking at.

Filmmakers shouldn't have to be product managers for their own tool stack.

If you shoot weddings for a living, your real job is the craft — telling a couple's story so well that they want to relive it every anniversary for the rest of their lives. That's hard, beautiful work, and it deserves your full attention.

What it doesn't deserve: two hours of digging through 800 GB of footage to find the usable clips. Three more hours stitching together a CRM, a scheduling tool, an invoicing platform, and a delivery service that each charge $30/mo and don't know the others exist. A whole evening every Sunday answering the same client questions from a different inbox than the one you sent the proposal from.

Hailo exists to take all of that off your plate, so the only decisions you make are the creative ones.

Built by people who use it every Saturday.

Every feature in Hailo started with a real wedding day. The auto-trim came from staring at 12-hour Saturday rushes. The multi-cam stacked XML came from getting tired of building timelines by hand at 1am. The anniversary recall email came from realizing that 80% of our couples never came back to their gallery after the first month — and the ones who did were potential repeat clients, vendor referrals, the whole growth engine we'd been ignoring.

Most "filmmaker software" is built by software people who saw a market. Hailo is built by a filmmaker who saw a problem.

And we're stubborn about where the AI sits in the workflow: Hailo does the grunt work — trimming, classifying, organizing, scheduling, sending — but never the creative work. We don't pick your shots. We don't generate your edits. We don't write your client emails for you. The soul of your work stays yours.

One app, eventually, for the whole filmmaking business.

Hailo today does three things well — client management, footage editing, and client delivery. That's the foundation, but it's not the destination.

The long-term goal is the entire shape of running a small filmmaking business inside one coherent app: bookings, contracts, payments, calendar, communications, footage, edits, deliveries, anniversaries, repeat sales, vendor relationships. Today's three wings are the structural skeleton. We're filling in the rest one validated feature at a time.

We'll ship it commercially when it's actually good. Not before.

How we work

Three things we won't compromise on.

01
Local-first by default

Your media stays on your machine. We don't suck terabytes of wedding footage into the cloud to "process" it. Local-first means faster, cheaper, and your work doesn't disappear if we do.

02
No AI in the creative seat

We use AI for grunt work — culling, sorting, classification, automation. We don't use it to generate your edits, write your client emails, or replace your eye. That's still you.

03
We never sell your data

Not your client list. Not your footage. Not your billing history. Not anonymized aggregate "insights" sold to platform partners. Your business is your business.
