Hailo is an all-in-one application for wedding and event filmmakers. It's three connected tools in one app: Manage (a CRM for clients, proposals, contracts, invoicing, scheduling), Edit (a footage assistant that trims unusable clips and classifies moments), and Deliver (branded delivery pages on your own domain).

It's designed to replace the 5–7 tools most wedding filmmakers stitch together - and to do things those tools can't do because they don't know each other.

Mostly: solo wedding filmmakers and small studios doing 10–60 weddings a year. The kind of operation where the founder is the shooter, the editor, the salesperson, and the bookkeeper.

Hailo also works well for event filmmakers (corporate, brand, documentary) and is good for hybrid wedding-and-portrait shops. It's less suited to large multi-shooter agencies right now - multi-seat / team features are on the roadmap but not here yet.

3 days of the plan you pick, with 150 tokens, about one wedding sorted. You add a card when you start so your trial rolls straight into your plan with no interruption. You're not charged until day 4, and you can cancel anytime before then at no cost. You can build delivery galleries on the trial, but publishing them opens when your plan starts, and films from a trial that ends without a plan are removed two weeks later. Cancel during the trial and your projects and contacts stay in place in case you change your mind.

No. Hailo runs as a normal Mac app - install it like any other application, double-click to launch. Connecting Google Calendar and Gmail is a standard OAuth flow (click a button, sign in with Google, done). Custom domain for delivery pages takes about 5 minutes if you've used DNS before, or about 15 if you haven't and follow our guide.

No. Hailo is not a replacement for your NLE. You still edit in Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.

What Hailo does is the prep work before you ever open your NLE - it ingests your footage, trims the unusable clips, classifies each clip by moment (ceremony, speeches, dancing, etc.), and exports a clean XML you can drop into your NLE. The grunt work is done; your timeline opens with the usable clips already organized.

Auto-trim catches the obvious unusable clips - handheld jitter from running between shots, accidental ground shots, smudged lenses. It's conservative by design: we'd rather leave a borderline clip in than cut a good one out. You review and refine in your NLE.

Moment classification works well for typical wedding day structure (prep → ceremony → portraits → reception → dancing). Edge cases (multi-day weddings, non-traditional ceremony formats, mostly-indoor shoots) we keep improving on. You can correct classifications and Hailo learns from your corrections.

This is one of the things Hailo does best. Point it at one folder with all your camera footage, and it gives you a single FCP7 XML with one V-track per camera, master audio on A1, and scratch audio muted. Drag the XML into your NLE and you have a synced multi-cam timeline.

It also handles the speech film case: detect toasts across all your cameras, build a multi-cam edit with transcripts, ready for cutting.

No. Hailo does the grunt work with AI - trimming, sorting, classifying, automating reminders. But the creative work stays yours: we don't generate edits, we don't write your client emails, we don't pick which moments make the cut.

Email templates are pre-written by you or by us, then you fill in the blanks. Edits are made by you in your NLE. Hailo gets you to the creative work faster - but it doesn't do the creative work for you.

Yes - that's a core feature. You point a subdomain like videos.yourname.com at Hailo via a CNAME record, and every delivery page lives at videos.yourname.com/sarah-and-chris (or whatever slug you pick). Your logo, your colors, your domain. Clients never see "hailo.studio" in the URL.

A year from the day its last film was uploaded. Adding a film to a gallery moves the date on by a year from that film, so a gallery you keep adding to keeps running.

A month before it closes, and again a week before, your couple gets an email in your name asking them to download their films while the link works. You are told before they are, so you can add a film, close it sooner, or write to them yourself first. Both of those emails are yours to reword or switch off.

This is the reason delivery is a flat monthly cost. Without it, every wedding you have ever shot keeps costing storage forever and the price has to climb with your back catalogue. With it, your shelf fills for about a year and then holds.

Not built, and shown on the Integrations page with a Coming soon chip so you can see they are planned: QuickBooks, Zapier and Calendly. Export CSV from Finance for your books, and paste a Calendly link on the Scheduling tile in the meantime.

Three plans: Edit at $69/month, Studio at $99/month and Pro at $199/month. Annual billing saves 15%. Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial that includes 150 tokens, about one wedding sorted, with a card up front and no charge until day 4.

Each plan comes with tokens every month: 300 on Edit, 600 on Studio and 1,200 on Pro. One token sorts one minute of footage you shot by hand, and a ceremony or speeches film uses about 10. Long takes, locked-off cameras, drone and action cams are free to sort. Need more in a busy month? Another 150 tokens is $25.

No. Hailo takes 0% of your client payments. You keep every dollar minus your payment processor's standard fees.

You connect your own Stripe or Square account, so payouts go straight to you. You can also invoice clients outside Hailo if you prefer.

Yes - one click inside Hailo. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; we don't pro-rate refunds for partial months, but we also won't auto-renew once you cancel. Your couples keep their galleries for the rest of their year, counted from the day the last film went up, your inquiry form closes at the end of your billing period, and your projects and contacts stay in place so you can restart your plan whenever you like.

Not yet. Hailo is currently optimized for solo filmmakers and small studios. Multi-seat agency pricing is on the roadmap. If you're a studio that needs this now, tell us - early input shapes what we build.

Your original camera files stay on your machine. We never upload your rushes. To sort your clips by moment, Hailo sends a few small still images from each clip, and on some runs a low-resolution copy of a clip, to its analysis service.

Films you publish to a delivery gallery are uploaded so your couples can watch and download them. They count against the delivery allowance for the cycle you upload them in, and they come down a year later when the gallery closes.

Your business records (clients, projects, invoices, etc.) are stored in our hosted backend so you can access them across devices. They're encrypted in transit and scoped to your account.

No. We never use your footage or your couples' media to train models. The metadata Hailo produces (trim decisions, moment classifications) is yours, and we don't aggregate it into a training corpus.

Trimming, focus and stability checks, recognizing the couple and transcribing speech all run on your machine. Sorting clips by moment uses an analysis service, which receives small still images from your clips and, on some runs, a low-resolution copy of a clip. Your original files are never uploaded.

Recognizing the couple means measuring face geometry, so that a portrait of one of them with a parent is not filed as a portrait of them both. It happens on your Mac, nothing about a face is written to disk or sent to us, and you can switch it off in Settings under Data & Learning. Hailo does not build face albums and there is no screen that groups people.

Separately, the optional Data and Learning setting shares your moment labels and one small thumbnail per clip with the Hailo team to improve sorting. It is on by default and you can turn it off in Settings under Data & Learning.

Hailo requests the minimum scopes needed:

• gmail.send - send emails from your address. This scope can send mail; it cannot read it.
• calendar.events - create/update events for shoots. Hailo doesn't touch unrelated events.
• userinfo.email - confirm which Google account you connected.
• gmail.readonly - requested only if you turn on reply sync, which shows your clients' replies inside Hailo. Hailo reads threads with the clients and leads already in your account and ignores the rest of your mail. Off unless you enable it.

Nobody, by default. Customer data is access-restricted to a very small group (currently just the founder) and only accessed when you specifically request support, or when investigating abuse. We don't browse customer data for fun or for "insights."

Yes. At any time you can export everything - clients, projects, invoices, communications, delivery analytics - as CSV/JSON. If Hailo ever shuts down for any reason, we'll give you 90 days' notice and tools to export everything before the lights go out. Your media is already on your machine, so that's never at risk.

A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. Intel Macs are not supported. Minimum 16 GB RAM, more is better for ingest. You'll want a fast external SSD or large internal storage for your footage.

Hailo for Windows is coming by the end of November.

Partly. Trimming, stability and focus checks, multicam sync and building films all run on your Mac and keep working offline. Sorting clips by moment needs a connection, and so do sending email, calendar syncing, publishing delivery pages and taking payments. Manage and Deliver need a connection as well.

Hailo never copies your footage. It indexes the files in place and works with metadata. A 2 TB wedding project takes the same disk space whether you use Hailo or not - only an index file gets added.

Yes, all three. Pixieset Studio Manager, Studio Ninja, Dubsado, Bloom and Aisle Planner have ready-made column maps, so their export drops straight in. HoneyBook, Tave, HubSpot, 17hats, Pixifi, Iris Works, Sprout Studio and ShootQ go through a mapping step you confirm before anything is written. Every number in the preview comes from your own rows, never from a guess. If your CRM is not on either list, tell us which one on the contact page and we will map it with you.

Dated, because it is built and being tuned:

• Blueprints, October 26, 2026. Start from a finished film's cuts, song and pacing, and refill every cut from a wedding you have already analyzed.

Near-term (next few months):

• Auto-create delivery pages from a Project when you mark it done
• Moment labels for cultural weddings, built with the filmmakers who shoot them

Mid-term: multi-seat team pricing, vendor credit auto-linking, Premiere CSV chapter import, Zapier and Calendly.

Long-term: the entire shape of running a small filmmaking business inside one app - bookings to anniversaries.

Already shipped, in case you read this list a while ago: logo and favicon upload for delivery pages, custom domains, anniversary and check-in emails, branded email templates in your colors, and import from thirteen other CRMs.

Yes. Hailo for Windows is coming by the end of November. Linux is not currently planned.

Some parts already do - the CRM, delivery pages, and scheduling work fine for photographers. The footage-specific features (trim, classify, multi-cam) don't apply to stills. A photographer-flavored version (RAW culling, stills-specific deliveries) is something we're scoping but not committing to yet.
