A Bloom alternative for wedding videographers

A Bloom.io alternative built for wedding videographers should look after the footage as well as the clients, and Hailo does both. Like Bloom, it runs leads, contracts, invoices, booking and automations; it also sorts and syncs your wedding footage and delivers each film for streaming and download in 4K.

What Bloom covers

Bloom calls itself an all-in-one business workspace and CRM for professional services, and lists photography and videography among many industries. Its features include lead management, contract signing, a website portfolio and builder, image galleries, invoicing and payments, instant booking, scheduling, project management, workflows, automations, a client portal and a website chat messenger.

The Bloom CRM takes payments through Stripe and Square for card and ACH, plus PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle and bank transfers. Its plan comparison lists a QuickBooks integration and custom domains, its top plan lists team members with feature permissions, and it has a mobile app. If you got here comparing Bloom.io vs HoneyBook, or other Bloom.io competitors, there is a separate page on HoneyBook.

A gallery that holds the film file

Bloom's gallery features list embedded videos alongside favorites, download permissions, client activity and password protection. Hailo's gallery takes the film itself. You upload your 4K export, the upload picks back up if the connection drops, and the couple plays and saves exactly the file you delivered. On most looks you choose per gallery whether downloads are on, and you can lock it with a password.

The page around the film is yours to design, from a cover cut from the film to an entry splash with a music bed that fades when the film starts. Couples can buy an add-on with checkout on the page, and you see who watched, how far and what they downloaded. See 4K streaming and download.

The footage work before the gallery

This is the part Bloom's feature list does not cover, and for a wedding videographer it is where the hours go. Hailo labels every main camera clip under your length limit by moment: prep, first look, ceremony, portraits, reception, speeches, dancing, details. Each sorted clip gets a plain sentence describing what is in the shot, and Hailo can tell the couple apart from the guests. A wrong label is a one-click fix that holds through every re-run.

It also trims the shake, keeping each clip's longest steady, sharp stretch and deleting nothing. You set the strictness, per camera if you like, and the dance floor gets its own bar so energetic camera work is not trimmed like the ceremony. Then it syncs every camera, cuts the ceremony and the toasts, and opens the lot in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Hailo does not grade, mix or export your film; that work stays yours. More on sorting by moment.

No website builder, but it plugs into yours

Bloom includes a website builder and a chat messenger for your site. Hailo has neither. Instead, your inquiry form embeds on the site you already have with one snippet, galleries embed the same way, and both client pages and galleries can run on your own web address.

Is a Bloom.io alternative worth the move

It depends on what you would give up. Whatever Bloom.io alternatives you are weighing, put these four next to Hailo first:

  • A team with permissions. Bloom's top plan lists team members. Hailo has no seats yet: one studio, one login.
  • QuickBooks. Bloom lists an integration. Hailo has none yet and exports finance reports to CSV.
  • Photo galleries. Bloom has image galleries. Hailo delivers films only.
  • A mobile app. Hailo runs on a Mac; on a phone you use the browser for the office and delivery side.

Moving from Bloom to Hailo

  1. In Bloom, export your Contacts CSV, Invoices CSV and Transactions CSV.
  2. In Hailo, open Settings > Import from another CRM and click Bloom. It has a ready-made column map.
  3. Drop Contacts on Clients / contacts, and Invoices and Transactions together on Invoices & payments.
  4. Click Have Hailo sort it and read the preview of clients, leads, invoices and payments. Nothing is written yet.
  5. Click Run import, then check balances in Finance > Invoices.
  6. Embed Hailo's inquiry form on your site so new leads land in Hailo from day one.

Questions filmmakers ask

Can I import from Bloom into Hailo?

Yes. Bloom is one of the tools Hailo imports with a ready-made map, covering its Contacts, Invoices and Transactions CSVs. Drop the three files in, look over the counts of clients, leads and money Hailo found, and click Run import. If anything was skipped, Hailo lists the rows so you can fix them and run it again safely.

Does Hailo host videos in the gallery or embed them?

Hailo hosts them. You upload the film file itself, and the couple watches and keeps it in 4K, the same file you exported. Each gallery runs a year from the last film you added, with extra years available to buy. Treat it as delivery, not storage: your own backup is still your archive.

Does Hailo have a website builder like Bloom?

No. Hailo does not build websites and has no chat widget for your site. It gives you a snippet to embed your inquiry form on the site you have, an embed for galleries, and client pages and galleries on your own domain. New inquiries land in Hailo as leads with an auto-reply in your words.

Can my team use one Hailo account?

Not with their own logins. A Hailo account is a single seat today, without roles or permissions for anyone else in the studio. Bloom's top plan lists team members with feature permissions, so if your team works inside the CRM, that matters. Seats are on Hailo's list of planned work, but undated.
