A VidFlow alternative for wedding filmmakers
A VidFlow alternative has a lot to match, because VidFlow is a delivery platform made for wedding films and photos. It streams in 4K, has TV apps for smart TVs and streaming devices, white-labels on your own domain, and says more than 15,000 studios use it. Hailo matches most of that gallery, adds the CRM and the footage side in the same app, and this page is plain about where VidFlow is ahead.

Where VidFlow and Hailo do the same job
On the core of wedding film delivery the two line up closely. Both stream in 4K and let the couple download the film, both put a password on a gallery, both embed on your website and email the couple their link, both can serve galleries from your own domain, and both show you views and downloads. If delivery is the only job you need done, either one will do it.
Where VidFlow is ahead
If you are comparing VidFlow alternatives, read these first. They are real differences, and for some studios they settle it.
- Gallery lifetime. Each VidFlow gallery includes 2 years of client access and downloads. A Hailo gallery closes a year after its newest film upload, unless you buy extra years or let the couple pay you for more time. Hailo emails the couple a month and a week before the date, and tells you 45 days out.
- TV apps. VidFlow lists TV apps for Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV and Android TV devices. Hailo's TV apps are not available yet.
- Photos and films together. VidFlow offers hybrid galleries. Hailo delivers films only, and stills delivery is not built.
- No subscription. VidFlow sells upload packs. Hailo is a subscription whose delivery allowance resets each month, and it is not an archive. See pricing for what each plan includes.
- Mobile gallery apps. VidFlow lists them. A Hailo gallery opens in the phone's browser, with no app to install.
What a VidFlow alternative adds: the rest of your studio
Hailo's case is everything around the gallery. On the page itself, couples can buy add-ons from your catalog with checkout through your own Stripe, every vendor from the day is credited and linked, and a Google review prompt sits under the film. After delivery, lifecycle emails bring the couple back: a 30-day check-in, a download reminder that stops once they have saved the films, and a note on their first anniversary.
Before delivery, the same app books the wedding, with an inquiry form, proposals, contracts, invoices and automations, and it prepares the footage: every card offloaded and verified, every main camera clip labeled by moment, shake trimmed, cameras synced with your recorders, and the ceremony and toasts cut for you as multicams. That is the gap between a wedding video delivery platform and a studio app that ends in delivery. Publish the gallery and the project marks itself delivered on your dashboard.
If Vimeo is on your list too
If you are also weighing VidFlow vs Vimeo, the question is the one this page keeps asking: a page made for a wedding film, or a host made for every kind of video. We set Hailo beside Vimeo on its own page.
Delivering your first film in Hailo
- Connect your domain once under Settings > Your domain. You add one DNS record, Hailo checks it, and every gallery publishes there.
- In Deliver, click Use template on a look you like, then pick the couple and add the film.
- When the film's card reads 4K ready, set the cover and write your personal note.
- Add vendor credits and upsells, and set a password if the couple wants one.
- Click Publish, then Send to couple, and watch Analytics for the first play.
Questions filmmakers ask
How is Hailo different from VidFlow?
VidFlow is a delivery platform, and Hailo is the whole studio with delivery as its last step. On the gallery they overlap a lot: 4K, passwords, your own domain and stats. Hailo's gallery also carries upsells with checkout, vendor credits and lifecycle emails, and the same app holds a CRM and footage tools. VidFlow includes two years per gallery, TV apps, photo galleries and pay-per-upload packs.
Can couples watch a Hailo film on their TV?
Not through a TV app yet. Hailo's TV apps are not available to couples today, while VidFlow lists TV apps for Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV and Android TV devices. For now the gallery opens in a browser on a phone or a computer, and the player streams up to 4K where a 4K copy exists.
Does Hailo deliver photos as well as films?
No. Stills delivery is not built, so a Hailo gallery carries films only. The one photo on the page is your cover, plus your signature photo under the personal note. VidFlow's hybrid galleries hold films and photos together, which counts in its favor if you deliver both under one link. When a separate photographer delivers the stills, the couple simply gets two links.
How long do Hailo galleries stay online?
Each gallery runs for a year, counted from the newest film you uploaded to it, so adding a film starts that year again. Need longer? Buy one to five extra years for that gallery, or name a yearly price and email the couple an offer to pay you for it. Before the link closes, Hailo warns the couple twice and warns you first.
Can I use my own domain for Hailo galleries?
Yes. Under Settings > Your domain, a four-step wizard has you add one DNS record at your domain provider, then checks it and readies the secure certificate. Galleries publish on an address like client.yourstudio.com, and they keep working on the Hailo link while you set it up. A custom link ending swaps random letters for the couple's names.
