The ceremony, cut for you

AI multicam editing that cuts your wedding ceremony

AI multicam editing for a wedding ceremony should hand you the cut you would make yourself: on whoever is speaking, on the couple for the rings and the kiss, on the floating camera for the music. Hailo finds the ceremony in the day's footage, syncs your cameras and cuts it, then opens it in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve as a real multicam you can re-cut.

What the ceremony cut looks like

You get the whole ceremony, from the opening words to the recessional, already switched between your angles. Hailo knows the officiant's voice from each of the couple's, stays on whoever is talking, and holds on the two of them for the big beats. The details that make it feel edited are there too:

  • Reactions come first. Cut-aways land when the couple laughs or tears up.
  • Cuts between sentences. It waits for a pause in the words before it changes camera.
  • The floating camera, used well. Only its steady seconds make the cut.
  • Blocked shots avoided. When a guest stands in front of a tripod, Hailo switches to a camera with a clear view.
  • Two ceremonies in one day. Hailo builds one and offers the other.

Why AI multicam editing is different at a wedding

Most auto multicam editing tools were made for podcasts and shows, where the right shot is nearly always the person talking. A ceremony breaks that. During the vows the best shot is often the partner listening, the processional has no words at all, and a guest always stands up in front of a tripod at the worst moment.

Hailo is made only for weddings, so its wedding ceremony video editing is built around those moments. Want the cameras lined up with no cut? Multicam sync puts every angle on its own track.

Your style, and the sound under it

Your style goes in as numbers, not adjectives: how long to hold on the speaker and on the couple, how often to cut away, and how much floating camera you want. Open every part on the wide if that is how you work.

Under the picture, Hailo plays the clearest mic for each part, often the DJ board for the officiant and the lav for the vows, with each mic brought to the same speaking level. Ceremony audio has the detail. The finish screen then shows a graph of the ceremony with its biggest moments named, and lines you can click to hear.

Every cut stays switchable in your editor

The cut arrives as a real multicam, not a rendered video, so you switch any angle the way you always would. Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve open it straight from Hailo. Premiere Pro needs a one-time macOS permission, which the Premiere Pro multicam page walks through.

Hailo stops at the timeline. It does not color grade, mix or export your film, and your original footage stays on your Mac.

How you build a ceremony cut in Hailo

  1. Click Make ceremony film on the Edit launchpad, or Ceremony film on a couple's Edit hub.
  2. Pick the couple and choose Multicam under What do you want back?
  3. Add a folder for each camera and the recorder files, then set your holds, cut-away timing and floating camera.
  4. Choose where to save and click Build the film. You can leave the screen while it runs.
  5. Preview the cut inside Hailo, or open it in your editor.

Questions filmmakers ask

Can AI edit a multicam video?

Yes. AI multicam editing is what Hailo does for a wedding ceremony: it syncs your cameras, then switches between them on the speaker, the couple for the rings and the kiss, the floating camera for the music, and a reaction when the couple laughs or tears up. It arrives as a multicam, so any cut is one switch away.

Is there an automatic multicam editor for Premiere Pro?

Yes. Hailo does automatic multicam editing in Premiere Pro for ceremonies and speeches, handing it a multicam already synced and cut. Premiere Pro's own multicam lets you switch live, but choosing the angles is up to you. Hailo's step needs the macOS Accessibility permission once; without it, your synced angles open on their own tracks and you enable the multicam yourself.

How do you edit a wedding ceremony with multiple cameras?

Sync every camera to the recorder, make a multicam, then play it through and switch: the speaker for the words, the couple for the rings and the kiss, the wide or a floating camera for the music. Even out the audio so each mic sits at the same speaking level. Hailo does each step, so your pass becomes watching the cut and changing what you disagree with.

Does Autopod work for weddings?

Autopod describes itself as plug-ins for video podcasts and shows in Premiere Pro, and its site does not mention weddings, so we cannot say how it handles one. A ceremony asks for what a show does not: the listening partner's reaction, music with no words, blocked tripods, a floating camera. Hailo is built for those.

How long does it take to edit a wedding ceremony?

By hand, switching means watching the whole ceremony at least once, after syncing and before the audio work. With Hailo the build runs on your Mac while you do something else, and you start from a finished cut rather than a blank multicam. A ceremony film uses tokens; pricing shows what each plan includes.
