Data and Learning

Join or leave the Data and Learning program from Settings, and check which way it is set on this Mac.

Settings > Data & Learning is where you join or leave the beta program that makes Hailo's labelling better for every studio. It is on by default. The panel is titled "Hailo learns from every studio".

This is a per-Mac choice, so set it on each computer you work from. For the detail of what the program covers, see the Privacy Policy at hailo.studio/privacy.

Check your status

  • Sharing on: a Contributing chip shows with "sharing as {email}".
  • Sharing off: the page reads "Sharing is currently off for this machine."

Turn sharing off

  1. Click Turn off sharing.
  2. The message "You've left the beta program. Nothing will be shared." confirms it.

Turn sharing back on

  1. Type your email in the box (placeholder "you@yourstudio.com"). It is pre-filled with your account email.
  2. Click Turn sharing back on.
  3. The message "You're in the beta program" confirms it. Keep using Hailo like normal.
Message Meaning
"Enter a valid email to join." The address is not shaped like an email.
"Could not save" Hailo could not save the setting on this Mac. Try again, and if it keeps failing see Contact support.

If it didn't work

  • The chip still says Contributing after turning it off. Reload the page. If it persists, the setting could not be saved; see the "Could not save" row above.
  • You have two Macs. Set it on each. The choice does not travel between computers.
Still stuck? Send a note from the contact page and a real person at Hailo answers. Include the studio name you signed up with and, if it is about a specific screen, what you clicked.
