Clip cards and right-click

Read everything on a clip card and use the right-click menu to reveal, open, relabel and inspect a clip.

Every clip in the grid is a card. The card tells you what Hailo decided about the clip, and the right-click menu is where you act on it: find the file, open it, change its label, or see why it got the label it has.

Anatomy of a card

Element What it shows
Thumbnail A frame from the clip. Until the thumbnail exists, the filename shows in its place.
Analyzing pill Appears on the card Hailo is working on right now during a run.
Moments badge "N moments" when Find Moments found key moments inside the clip.
Moment badge The clip's moment (Ceremony, Speeches, and so on) in its timeline color. Click it to change the moment. A badge you set yourself is outlined so you can tell your corrections from Hailo's labels.
Reject badge A red badge on clips that trimming dropped, naming the reason (Out of Focus, Junk Footage, and so on). See Trimming shaky footage.
Filename The clip's file name.
Description Hailo's one-line description of what is in the clip, with a note on how it might be used.
Meta row Duration · width x height · frame rate · file size.

A deselected clip (one not going to the timeline) is dimmed. Click a card to toggle its selection.

The right-click menu

Right-click (or Control-click) any card.

Item What happens
Reveal in Finder Finder opens with the original file selected. If the drive is unplugged, Hailo says "Could not reveal in Finder:" with the reason.
Copy file path Copies the full path to the clipboard. A toast reads Copied path, or Copy failed if the clipboard refused.
Open in QuickTime Opens the original file in QuickTime Player so you can watch it at full quality. If it cannot open, Hailo says "Could not open:" with the reason.
Change moment… Opens the moment picker at the cursor. One click on a moment commits it. See Correcting a label.
Why Hailo labeled this Opens a panel headed Why Hailo labeled this · {filename} showing why the clip got the label it has, how sure Hailo was, and a one-line note on where the shot might work in a cut.
Show takes from the same setup Filters the grid to the clips shot around the same time, so you can compare takes. A banner appears above the grid while the filter is on; click Clear to go back. The item is dimmed when Hailo has not grouped the clip with any others.

Reading the reasoning panel

A low confidence on a clip you care about is worth a look. Check the label yourself and correct it if it is wrong.

Troubleshooting

Reveal in Finder does nothing. The drive with the footage is not mounted. Plug it in, or use Copy file path to see where Hailo expects the file.

The moment badge will not change. A run is still writing labels for this project. Wait for it to finish, then correct the clip; your correction is kept through every later pass.

Showing takes from the same setup is dimmed. The clip was not grouped with any others in time (a lone drone pass, for instance).
