Uninstall Hailo
Remove Hailo from your Mac, including the menu bar timer and the folders it leaves behind.
There is no uninstaller. Dragging Hailo to the Trash removes the app, and a few things it created stay behind until you remove them too.
Uninstalling does not close your account or stop your plan. To do that, use Settings > Account > Delete account in Hailo, or cancel from Settings > Billing first. See Delete your account. Your leads, clients, proposals, invoices, galleries and settings are all still there when you sign in again, on this Mac or another one. Take a copy first from Settings > Account if you want one. See Export your data.
Remove the app
- Quit Hailo. If a run is going, let it finish or quit twice. See Quitting while Hailo works.
- Open Applications in Finder.
- Drag Hailo to the Trash.
- Check your user Applications folder for a second copy and trash that too.
- Empty the Trash.
Remove the menu bar timer
Hailo installs a small helper that starts at login and counts editing time. It keeps running after the app is gone until you remove it.
- Click the Hailo icon in the menu bar and choose Quit Time Agent.
- Open Terminal (in Applications > Utilities).
- Paste this and press Return:
launchctl bootout gui/$(id -u)/com.hailo.timeagent; rm -f "$HOME/Library/LaunchAgents/com.hailo.timeagent.plist"
The first part stops the helper; the second stops it starting again at login. If the first part reports that the service could not be found, it was already stopped, and the rest still runs.
Remove the folders Hailo made
- Click the desktop so Finder is in front.
- Open the Go menu and hold the Option key. Library appears in the menu. Choose it.
- Type
Hailoin the search box at the top right of the window, then click Library in the bar underneath so the search covers only that window. - Drag every folder named Hailo that comes back to the Trash.
- Empty the Trash.
If you plan to reinstall, leave them where they are. Remove them and you have to add each of your projects to Edit again.
Inside each wedding folder you worked on, Hailo also created a folder of its own and a Hailo Edit folder holding the films it built. Drag those to the Trash only if you no longer want what Hailo made for that wedding. Your camera files are not in them.
If it didn't work
Hailo is still in the menu bar after you emptied the Trash. The timer was not removed. Run the Terminal line above, then log out and back in.
Finder says Hailo is in use. Quit Hailo first. If the window is gone but Finder still refuses, choose Quit Time Agent from the menu bar icon, then try again.
The Terminal line asks for a password. It should not. Check that you pasted the whole line.
Library is not in the Go menu. Hold the Option key down while the menu is open. It only appears while the key is held.
