Catalog, packages and add-ons
Set up the packages and a la carte items you sell, write the descriptions couples read, and save the payment terms you reuse on every booking.
The Catalog is the price list behind every proposal and booking: your packages, the a la carte extras a couple can add, and the payment terms you load onto a booking in one click. Open it from Templates > Catalog, or search "Catalog" with Cmd+K.
The page has four cards: Packages, A-la-carte items, Payment terms and Upsell campaigns. The Show archived button in the header reveals archived rows (dimmed, with a Restore button); it turns into Hide archived.
Packages
Packages are your tiers. The card lists each one by name and price, with the coverage hours beside the price when you set them (for example "8h coverage"). Click the count under a name to unfold what is included without leaving the page.
Create or edit a package
- Click New package (or click a package name to edit it).
- Fill in the form:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | The name couples see, for example "Full Day Coverage". |
| Description (markdown ok) | "One-paragraph pitch the client sees on the proposal page." This is the text under the package on proposals and on gallery upsell cards. |
| Base price (USD) | Dollars. "4,500", "4500" and "$4,500.00" all work. |
| Default hours | Coverage hours, in half-hour steps. Defaults to 8. |
| Sort order | Lower numbers sort first. |
| Inclusions, one per line | Each line becomes a bullet on the proposal. |
- Click Create package (or Save changes).
To retire a package without deleting it, hover its row and click Archive. Archived packages stay on old proposals but leave the pickers. To delete it for good, open it and click Delete; the confirmation reads "Delete this package? This cannot be undone."
If you have none yet the card says "No packages yet. Most filmmakers start with 3 tiers: a small/medium/large." with a Create your first package button.
A la carte items
Add-ons a couple can pick: drone, an extra hour, a second shooter, raw footage. The card lists Name, Category and Price; click Details under a name to unfold the description.
Create or edit an item
- Click New item (or click an item name).
- Fill in Name, Description (markdown ok) ("Brief client-facing description."), Price (USD), Category and Sort order.
- Click Create item (or Save changes).
Categories are fixed: coverage, drone, edits, rush, raw footage, additional films, albums, other. They group items in Cmd+K search results and on proposals.
Archive and delete work the same way as packages. The delete confirmation is "Delete this item?".
Descriptions written on a gallery come back here
When you write the blurb under an upsell card in a Deliver gallery's Upsells panel, you are editing the same description that lives on this catalog row. It changes everywhere that row is shown: that gallery, every other gallery that offers the item, and proposal line items you add from the catalog later. There is one description per item, not one per page. See Upsells.
Payment terms (presets)
A preset is a reusable payment schedule: a deposit, then one or more later payments. You load it onto a booking's Payments step in one click instead of rebuilding the rows. The list shows Name, a Schedule summary such as "50% / 50%" or "3 payments", and the Description. The default preset sorts first.
Build a preset
- In the Payment terms card, click New preset.
- Type a Preset name and, if you like, a Short description (optional).
- Hailo starts you with two rows: a 50% Deposit due when the contract is signed, and a Final balance for the remaining 50% due 2 weeks before the wedding. Edit each row:
| Control | Options |
|---|---|
| Label | Any name, for example "Deposit", "Second payment". |
| Amount kind | % of the total, or $ for a fixed amount. |
| Amount | The percentage or the dollar amount. |
| Due | when the contract is signed, before the wedding or after the wedding. The wedding-relative options add a number and a unit (days, weeks, months). |
- Click Add payment for another row. The running total under the rows reads "Percentages total 100%" when every row is a percentage; it turns amber if they do not add up to 100. Mixed rows read as "3 payments".
- Click Save preset.
Presets cannot carry a fixed calendar date. A preset is reused across many weddings, so only "on acceptance" and wedding-relative rules travel with it. You can still set an exact date on an individual booking.
Manage a saved preset from its row: Make default (or Clear default on the current default; only one can be default), Rename (opens an inline row with the name and description and a Save button) and Delete. Deleting asks "Delete this preset? Bookings that already used it keep their schedule."
You can also create a preset from a lead's Booking tab by ticking Save this schedule as a preset in the payment editor. It lands in this list. See Retainers and payment plans.
Upsell campaigns
Campaigns are scheduled offers (for example a teaser edit 60 days before the wedding). The card lists Name, Trigger, Offers (which a la carte item) and Price. Click New upsell to build one: Campaign name, Description (internal note), Trigger, Offset days (for date-based triggers) (default 60), Offer (which a-la-carte item), Custom price override (USD, optional) ("Leave blank to use the a-la-carte price") and Email template to send. Then click Create campaign.
Automated campaign sends are currently switched off in Hailo, so a campaign does not email anyone yet. Packages and a la carte items are unaffected; they still feed proposals and the "Extras you can add" cards on delivery galleries.
If it didn't work
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Give the preset a name and at least one payment." | The preset form was submitted with an empty name or no rows. Add both and save again. |
| A rail or item does not appear on a proposal | Check it is not archived. Click Show archived and Restore it. |
