Wings that are not in your plan
What a locked wing looks like, what the upgrade card says, and what keeps working when a wing is not included.
The Edit plan includes the Edit wing only. If you open Manage or Deliver on that plan, Hailo does not hide the wing: the real screen renders, dimmed, behind an upgrade card. You can look, but not touch.
What a locked wing looks like
- In the top-bar wing switcher, the locked wing carries the tooltip Not included in your plan and takes you to the plan picker.
- If you reach a locked screen another way (a link, a search result), the page draws underneath a dimmed overlay and a card sits on top of it. The wing switcher and Settings stay live above the card, so there is always a way out and a way to pay.
- Anything that would change something in that wing is refused. Buttons and forms behind the card do nothing, and the wing's data does not load.
The upgrade card
The card shows:

Upgrading is billed today, prorated, and the wing opens the moment you confirm.
What still works
- Search (Search in the top bar, or Command-K) searches all three wings, including ones your plan does not include. Opening a result in a locked wing shows the dimmed screen and the card.
- Your couples' pages are never locked by a plan: proposals, invoices, questionnaires, booking pages, the client hub and delivery galleries you have already published stay reachable through their links. A plan change never darkens a gallery a couple is watching.
- The dashboard, the notification bell, Feedback, Settings and Hailo Billing work on every plan.
- Usage meters for wings you do not have are not shown at all, rather than shown at zero. See Usage meters.
If you downgraded
Moving from Studio or Pro to Edit takes effect at your renewal date. Until then every wing stays open. After it, Manage and Deliver lock as described here. Your leads, clients, invoices and galleries are kept, and they reappear the moment you move back to a plan that includes those wings.
A plan that has ended is different from a locked wing. In that case Hailo sends every screen to the plan picker, and the galleries you have already published stay live for your couples. See Cancel your plan.
If a wing you paid for shows the card
Hailo opens every wing if it cannot read your plan, so this should not happen. If it does, log out and back in with your email and password so the Mac refreshes its link to your cloud account, then check Settings > Hailo Billing shows the plan you expect. If it still shows the card, contact support from Feedback in the sidebar.
