Cover

Pick what fills the top of the couple's page: a cut of the film, a photo or a separate banner video.

The cover is the picture or loop behind the couple's names at the top of the page. The Cover panel is the only place to change it; the cover in the page itself is not clickable.

Open the panel

Click Cover in the rail.

Current

The Current block shows what the page uses now. Click it (tooltip Change cover) to change it.

What you see Meaning
A picture with the tag Photo A still you uploaded.
A film icon with Custom banner video A separate video you uploaded as the loop.
From your film · M:SS · Ns A cut you chose from the feature film, starting at that time and that many seconds long.
Cover frame · M:SS The automatic 15-second cut Hailo took from the feature film.
No cover yet. Pick one below. Nothing set and no feature film to cut from.

A new gallery uses the automatic cut: once the feature film lands, the cover is a 15-second loop from it, so the page is alive without you doing anything. Replace it with any option below whenever you like.

Change cover

Three options:

  1. Use part of your film, marked Recommended: "Drag to the moment you want. It loops behind the couple's names." If there is no feature film yet the option is disabled with Upload your feature film first to use this option.
  2. Upload a photo: "A still image as the cover. Cleanest option."
  3. Upload a banner video: "A separate short clip (BTS, vibe reel) as the loop."

Use part of your film

  1. Click Use part of your film. The Banner clip sheet opens with a scrubber over the feature film.
  2. Drag the slider (Where the banner clip starts) to the moment you want. Use the play button (Play the selection) to check it.
  3. Pick a Length chip: 5s, 10s, 15s, 20s or 30s.
  4. Click Use this clip. Hailo cuts that piece server-side and it becomes the loop. Cancel leaves the cover as it was.

When you later move to a different cover, a cut Hailo made is cleaned up on its own. A banner video you uploaded yourself is never touched.

Upload a photo

  1. Click Upload a photo and pick an image.
  2. The Fit the photo window opens. Drag the picture (hint Drag the photo to move it) and use Zoom to frame it. Reset puts it back.
  3. Click Use photo. Cancel discards the pick.

Upload a banner video

  1. Click Upload a banner video and pick a short clip. It has to be under 2 minutes and under the film size ceiling.
  2. It uploads and loops behind the names.

Where else the cover shows

  • The splash backdrop follows the cover unless you give the splash its own photo. See Entry splash and music.
  • The gallery cards on the launchpad and in the Galleries list show it.
  • The lock screen can blur it behind the password card. See Password and expiry.

If it didn't work

  • "Upload your feature film first to use this option." There is no main film on the page yet. Upload one, wait for it to land, then come back.
  • A banner video was refused. It is over 2 minutes or over the size ceiling. Trim it and try again. The exact message names the file and its size.
  • The cover on the card is different from the one on the page. Reload the editor. The card shows the last saved cover.
  • The gallery editorLearn the editor's top bar, the rail of ten tools and how the panels behave.
  • Entry splash and musicSet the screen the couple meets first, its style and line, the backdrop, and a music bed that fades when a film starts.
  • The Films panelRename films, set their kind, pick thumbnails, reorder them, choose the main film and delete a film for good.
  • Create a galleryStart a new gallery for a couple in two steps, drop in the films and open the editor.
