The project
What a project is in Hailo, where it shows up on the client record, how it moves to delivered, and how to link an editor project so its hours count.
A project is the film behind a booking. Hailo creates it the moment a couple books and follows it through Booked, the wedding date, Footage in, Edit complete and Delivered. You rarely touch it directly: the client record is where you work, the Edit wing fills it with footage, and the Deliver wing finishes it.
Where projects live
There is no projects list. Anything that points at projects (quick search results, older links) opens the Clients list or the client's record. On a client record:
- The Delivery tab lists the footage projects under "Footage projects". It reads "No footage project yet." until one exists.
- The Financials tab shows the editing hours against the booking in the Editing time card.
- The dashboard's On the bench widget shows projects in progress, and Recently delivered shows the ones that shipped.
How a project becomes delivered
Publishing the couple's gallery in the Deliver wing with Mark project as delivered ticked is the normal path. It stamps the delivery date, moves the client to Delivered on the Clients list and starts any delivered automations. See Mark a project delivered.
Hailo also has a completion page with a pre-flight checklist (Pipeline outputs delivered, Delivery page sent, All invoices paid, Booking status) and a Mark project complete button that archives the client and closes the booking. No screen in Manage links to it today, so unless you have a link from an older notification, use the gallery publish and change the client's status by hand on the Clients list if you want them archived.
Link an editor project for time tracking
Hailo's time tracker notices the projects you open in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Linking one to a wedding once makes every later hour count toward that wedding's hours and rate.
- Open Editing time (click the Edit time widget on the dashboard, or All editing → on a client's Financials tab).
- Click Link NLE project. The dialog is titled "Point an editor project at a wedding".
- Under Detected, find the project the tracker has seen and click Link on its row, then pick the wedding.
- Or, under Add one manually, drag the project file onto "Drag a project here, or browse Finder", pick the wedding and click Link.
The page updates in place. See Editing time and Your editor and time tracking.
Troubleshooting
"No footage project yet." on the Delivery tab. The couple booked outside Hailo, or the project was removed in the Edit wing. Add their footage in the Edit wing and pick this couple; see Edit overview.
Hours are not showing against the wedding. The editor project is not linked. Open Editing time and link it; hours already tracked stay under "Unlinked NLE time" until then.
