Re-analyzing

Run the analysis again from scratch, keep your corrections, and understand why re-dropping a folder says it is already analyzed.

Most of the time you never need to re-analyze: changing trimming, colors or layout is a re-export, and a fixed label is a click. Re-analyzing is for when the labels themselves are wrong across the project, or a failed run left it in a state Try Again cannot recover.

Resume is the default

Whenever Hailo continues a project (after a pause, a quit, a lost connection, Continue or Try Again), it skips every stage that already finished and picks up from the last completed step. You never pay twice for clips already labeled.

Re-analyze from scratch

On a finished project, scroll to the re-export controls under the progress card and click Re-analyze from scratch (relabels every clip). A dialog asks:

Re-analyze this whole project from scratch? This re-runs Hailo's full analysis on every clip. Your manual label corrections are kept, every other label is recomputed. This can take a while.

Click Re-analyze to go ahead, or Never mind.

What is kept:

  • every moment you corrected by hand (see Correcting a label),
  • the couple, the folder, the intake answers and your settings.

What is recomputed:

  • every other label, description and score,
  • the trimming windows,
  • the timeline.

A from-scratch run spends tokens again for every main-footage clip. See Tokens and run cost.

Lighter options

Two buttons sit next to the from-scratch one and do not spend tokens:

  • Reanalyze smoothness (keeps labels): re-runs only the trimming pass with your current strictness, trim mode and shortest-clip settings. Labels and descriptions stay.
  • Re-export with Current Preferences: rebuilds the timeline with your current colors, trimming and layout, no analysis at all. See Re-export.

Already analyzed

If you drop a folder that already has a finished project (from Sort a wedding or a couple's Sort footage), intake stops on This footage is already done. with the badge Already analyzed and the note "Hailo already has a finished project for this folder."

  • Open results opens the finished project.
  • Re-analyze from scratch runs the same from-scratch re-analysis described above, with the same confirmation.

This screen exists so a re-drop never silently opens the old result and leaves you thinking the run did not start.

Troubleshooting

Re-analyze from scratch is missing. It only appears on a project that has finished at least once. On a failed run use Try Again; on a paused one, resume it.

The re-analysis kept a label I wanted changed. That label was corrected by hand at some point. Correct it again; corrections always win.

I want to start completely clean, corrections included. Delete the project with Remove and delete analysis and drop the folder again. See Deleting a project.
