What the couple sees on a proposal

The public proposal page, the Sign & pay button, the accepted confirmation and the expired page.

The couple opens the proposal in their web browser from the link you emailed. No account, no password. This article describes that page and the pages that follow it.

The proposal page

The page renders the layout you chose (Editorial Cream, Wild Hearts, Minimal Guide or Bold Couture) with everything you edited in the builder: the cover with their names, date and venue, your welcome note, your section about the filmmaker, recent work with playable films, the investment table and the closing step.

  • Opening the link the first time moves the proposal from Sent to Viewed and writes "Client opened proposal" to the lead's activity rail. Your own previews from Hailo do not count.
  • Line items marked optional appear with a remove toggle, so the couple can leave off an add-on before they sign. The total updates as they toggle.
  • Films play in place.

The closing step

For a proposal attached to a lead, the last section carries a Sign & pay button with the total (for example "Sign & pay, $6,400"). The helper text under it reads "Your booking page is where you review your collection, choose any add-ons, sign, and pay your deposit." Clicking it opens the booking page, where they review, sign the contract, answer your questions and pay the deposit. That page is described in Booking page and the signature itself in E-signing.

Once accepted, the same spot reads "Accepted" with the signer's name.

For a proposal attached to a client with no booking behind it, the helper reads "Watch your inbox, your personal booking link arrives separately."

The accepted page

Proposals that go through their own accept step (client proposals, and older proposals) land on a confirmation page headed Signed & locked in. with the signer's name in a signature face. Under it:

  • If a deposit invoice was raised: "Your deposit invoice is ready. You can review it now or wait for the email confirmation." with a View deposit invoice button showing the amount.
  • Otherwise: "You'll receive a confirmation email shortly with next steps and the deposit invoice" (or "payment details" when there is no deposit).
  • "Thank you, we can't wait to film your story." signed with your studio name.
  • "Locked-in total:" with the total and, when set, the deposit.

Acceptance is recorded once. Reloading the page or pressing back does not re-sign, re-toggle add-ons or send a second notification.

The expired page

Every proposal expires 30 days after it is created. After that the link shows a page headed This proposal has expired: "The pricing in is no longer current. Reach out for an updated one." with an <strong>Email <your studio></strong> button that opens a message to your studio email, and a note that "Proposals carry an expiry so quoted pricing and date availability stay honest."</p> <p>Two exceptions:</p> <ul> <li>An accepted proposal never expires.</li> <li>On the booking page, expiry stops mattering the moment the couple has signed, so a deposit already in flight is never blocked.</li> </ul> <p>Your own preview from the builder opens an expired proposal normally so you can edit and resend it.</p> <h2 id="what-you-are-told">What you are told</h2> <p>When the couple accepts, Hailo rings your bell, emails you (when a mailbox is connected) and writes the acceptance to the activity rail.
