Momentum

How the Momentum score on the dashboard is built from revenue, leads, posting and pipeline, what the detail panel shows, and what Instagram does and does not feed into it.

Momentum is one number, 0 to 100, that answers "is the business speeding up or slowing down?" The money tiles show what landed and the lead count shows how many, but neither shows direction. Momentum does. It lives in the Momentum widget on the dashboard.

The score

Four inputs, each scored 0 to 100, are weighted into the one number:

Input Weight What it measures
Revenue 35% This month's collection pace against your trailing three-month average
Leads 30% New leads in the last 30 days against the 30 days before
Posting 20% Instagram posts in the last 14 days against a target of 6
Pipeline 15% How many of the last 90 days' leads booked, minus a penalty for overdue invoices

Under the dial, a word sums it up:

Score Word
85 and up Full throttle
70 to 84 Rolling
50 to 69 Steady
25 to 49 Warming up
Under 25 Stalled

Why holding steady scores 70

Revenue and Leads are trend scores. Doing exactly what you did in the prior period scores 70, not 100. A wedding studio that books the same as last season is healthy, but the dial leaves room above so growth reads as growth. Growing to about 1.4 times the prior period (or more) scores 100. Shrinking scales down in proportion. No activity at all scores 0. If there is activity now but nothing in the prior period to compare with, Hailo calls it steady (70) rather than inventing a growth rate.

Revenue pace is this month's collections divided by how much of the month has passed, so the score does not crater on the 1st and recover by the 30th.

Posting

Posting is a volume score, not a trend: 6 posts in 14 days is 100, 3 posts is 50, none is 0. A 14-day window forgives one slow week. Posts come from your connected Instagram account. Without Instagram connected there is nothing to count, Posting scores 0, and the widget offers Connect Instagram to track your posting →.

Pipeline

Pipeline takes every lead from the last 90 days and the share of them that booked, scored against a 30% booking rate (30% or better is 100). Then it takes off 10 points for each overdue invoice, up to 30. This is the "looks busy but is not closing" detector.

The widget

The card shows Momentum, the dial with the score, the word under it, one sentence naming your biggest lever, and the four inputs with a detail line each:

Input Detail line
Revenue "$X/mo pace · avg $Y"
Leads "N in 30d · N before"
Posting "N of 6 posts · 14d"
Pipeline "N of N booked · 90d", or "No leads in 90d"

The lever sentence names the input where effort would move the score most, for example that posting is your biggest lever and you are at 2 of 6 this fortnight, or that overdue invoices are dragging the pipeline down. When every input is 85 or better it reads "Every input is strong" and tells you to hold the pace.

The detail panel

Click the card to open the Momentum breakdown panel. It shows:

  • The score and word again.
  • The lever sentence.
  • One row per input with its weight ("35% of score"), an arrow, its score and its detail line. The arrow compares now with the prior period: up, down, or flat. Revenue compares pace with the three-month average; Leads compares the last 30 days with the 30 before; Posting compares the last 14 days with the 14 before; Pipeline compares the booking rate of the last 90 days with the 90 before.
  • Posting · last 8 weeks: "N of 6" for the current fortnight and a small bar chart of posts per week for the last eight weeks. Hover a bar for the count.

Click Close or outside the panel to close it.

What Instagram does and does not feed in

Connect Instagram under Settings > Integrations. Hailo then reads your recent posts and follower count, and the posting score comes from real posts rather than anything you log by hand.

Instagram only grants Hailo posting activity and follower count. It does not share likes, comments or insights, so Momentum never claims to know how a post performed. Only cadence counts.

Instagram's access lasts 60 days without a sync; if it lapses, the Integrations page says so and asks you to reconnect. See Instagram.

If it didn't work

  • Posting is 0 with Instagram connected. There have been no posts in the last 14 days, or the connection has expired. Check the Instagram tile under Settings > Integrations.
  • Revenue dropped on the 1st of the month. It should not; pace is prorated. If it did, one large payment last month raised the three-month average that this month is measured against.
  • Pipeline is low but I am booking well. Check for overdue invoices; each one takes 10 points off. Send the reminders or mark them paid.
  • The score does not change after I fix something. The dial repaints when the dashboard loads. Reopen the dashboard.
