Multicam permission for Premiere Pro

Premiere Pro only creates a multicam source sequence from its own menu. No file Hailo writes can carry one. So when you ask for a Multicam build with Premiere Pro as your editor, Hailo opens your synced angles in Premiere and clicks that one menu item for you. macOS gates that click behind the Accessibility permission. Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve read a real multicam out of the file Hailo writes, so they never need this.

When you see the wall

On the film builder, choose Multicam with Premiere Pro as your editor. A panel appears under the toggle:

Let Hailo build your multicam

"Premiere only makes a multicam clip from its own menu. Hailo can click that one menu item for you, which macOS gates behind Accessibility. About twenty seconds, once."

1. Open the Accessibility settings with the button below.
2. Find Hailo in the list and switch it on. If it isn't there, click + and pick Hailo from Applications.
3. Come back here. This turns itself on the moment it's granted.

Two buttons and a status:

Control	What it does
Open Accessibility settings	Jumps straight to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
Not now - use stacked angles	Switches the build to Stack the angles. You get every angle on its own track and can make the multicam yourself in Premiere.
"Waiting for permission…"	Hailo checks every few seconds and while you switch back to it. The panel closes on its own when the permission lands.

Until the permission is granted, Build the film stays greyed out with "Still needs permission to build the multicam."

Grant the permission

1. Click Open Accessibility settings.
2. In the list, find Hailo and turn its switch on.
3. If Hailo is not in the list, click + at the bottom, choose Hailo from your Applications folder, and turn it on.
4. Return to Hailo. The panel disappears and Build the film becomes available.

What happens on the done screen

With the permission on, after Open in Premiere the note reads "In Premiere: a real multicam clip, angles synced, already on a timeline. Press 1, 2, 3 to cut between them."

If Premiere shows its multicam dialog instead, Hailo says "One click in Premiere finishes this: in its dialog, check "Create single multicam source sequence" (sync stays on Timecode), then click Create. Hailo takes it from there." That checkbox resets every time the dialog opens and cannot be set from outside Premiere, so it is the one click Hailo cannot make for you.

If you skipped the permission, the note reads "Your synced angles are open in Premiere. To have Hailo build the multicam clip for you, it needs permission to click one menu item in Premiere." with a Turn on one-click multicam button. Clicking it opens the Accessibility pane and changes the button to "Add Hailo in the window that opened, then rebuild."

Check the status later

The permission status shows in two places, both Premiere Pro only:

Edit settings gear > Workflow Preferences > NLE Target. Under the editor dropdown a row shows a dot and one of:

• "Checking multicam permission…"
• "One-click multicam is on - Hailo can build multicam clips in Premiere."
• "One-click multicam is off. Hailo needs permission to click one menu item in Premiere." with a Turn it on link.

Settings > Your editor (the Editor & time tracking page). Under the editor tiles the same row reads "One-click multicam is on. Hailo can build multicam clips in Premiere for you." or "One-click multicam is off. Hailo needs permission to click one menu item in Premiere." with a Turn it on button. Clicking it opens the pane and shows the help text "In the window that opened, find Hailo and switch it on. If it isn't listed, click + and pick Hailo from Applications. This updates itself the moment it's granted."

Switch your editor to Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve and the row disappears, because neither needs it.

If it didn't work

What you see	What to do
Hailo is switched on in Accessibility but the panel still says "Waiting for permission…"	Quit Hailo fully and reopen it. macOS applies the grant to the running app on next launch.
Hailo is in the list twice	Remove the older entry with -, keep the one that points at your Applications folder, and make sure it is on.
"Multicam permission can't be checked from a dev session"	You are running Hailo from source rather than the installed app. The status reads correctly in the installed Hailo app.
The multicam did not appear in Premiere even though the permission is on	Premiere was still starting when Hailo clicked. Rebuild with Premiere already open.
