Proposal layouts

Pick one of the four proposal designs, preview it, and start a proposal from it.

A layout is the visual design of a proposal: its typography, colours, photo treatment and the order of its sections. Hailo has four. Every section in every layout is editable on the proposal itself, so the layout is a starting point, not a cage.

Open the gallery from Templates > Proposal templates. The page is titled Proposal designs and each card shows a live miniature of the design's cover.

The four layouts

Layout Feel Sections (required ones marked *)
Editorial Cream (the default) Warm cream paper, italic serif headlines, hand-drawn green-line dividers, scattered photo plates and a Select Films grid. Cover · Welcome note · Behind the camera · Investment · Recent work · Agreement · Next step*
Wild Hearts Cinematic, all black and white. A full-bleed couple photo on the cover with tall narrow caps over it and a three-column meta strip. No warmth, no gold. Cover · Their day · Recent work · The filmmaker · Investment · Begin*
Minimal Guide A pricing-guide skeleton turned into a film proposal. Cream page cards, small restrained headlines, black-and-white stacked photo pairs. Investment renders as one centred pricing card. Cover · Welcome · Their day · The filmmaker · Recent work · Investment · Accept & sign*
Bold Couture Built for the moment after the client call. Massive block headlines, film-grain overlay, an info strip on the cover and a six-spread rhythm. Cover · Their day · The filmmaker · Recent work · Investment · Next step*

Required sections cannot be switched off. A proposal that cannot say who it is for, what it costs or how to accept is not a proposal, so the cover, the investment table and the accept step always render. The other sections have on/off switches in the lead's Booking tab (step 02, Layout), where the chip reads "N hidden" or "All N showing" and required ones show Always on.

Preview a layout

Click Preview on a card. The design opens in a preview window with sample content (a sample couple, sample photos) so you can judge the feel before you commit.

Start a proposal from a layout

  1. Click Create Proposal on the card you want.
  2. Hailo creates a draft called "Untitled Proposal" with sample photos, sample vibe words ("Warm", "Candid", "Timeless") and placeholder couple details ("Partner & Partner", "Wedding date", "Wedding location"), inherits your default intro, contract terms and cover from Settings > Defaults, and opens the builder. The banner reads "Draft created with the … layout. Click anything to edit."
  3. Nobody is attached yet. Before you can send, open Advanced settings > Prepared for and pick the couple. See Proposal builder.

You can also pick a layout later on any proposal from Advanced settings > Layout > Design, or from the lead's Booking tab Design popover.

Switching layouts keeps your photos

When you change a proposal's layout, Hailo swaps in that layout's sample photos only if you have not touched the photo slots. The moment you add, replace or delete a single photo, your set is yours and a later layout change never overwrites it. Text edits and styling overrides carry across layouts too.
