Build Everything

Build Everything is the one-pass door. You pick the couple and the wedding folder, switch on what you want made, and Hailo runs the whole thing: every clip sorted into moments, the shaky takes dropped, the ceremony and the speeches cut as multicams, and a blueprint film filled from the new footage. You come back to finished films.

The same build sheet appears at the end of an offload when you click Let Hailo build it.

Open Build Everything

On the Edit launchpad, click Build Everything (the full-width card at the top). The screen opens on the folder step.

Choose the couple and the folder

1. Under the couple line, click Choose couple and pick who this footage belongs to. Until you do, the line reads No couple picked yet.
2. Drop the wedding folder onto the panel, or click Choose folder…. The note reads "Drop the wedding folder here, or choose it. Hailo reads it where it sits, nothing is copied or moved." You can also click Type a path instead, paste the folder's path, and click Use this folder.
3. Hailo scans the folder and lists Folders Hailo found, each with the same auto-detected label and clip count the intake review shows. Check the labels; see Folder labels.
4. Click Continue.

Messages on this step:

• "No video in that folder. Pick the folder the footage is actually in."
• "Could not read that folder."
• "The folder dialog only works in the installed app" followed by a prompt to type the path: you are not in the desktop app.

The build sheet

The sheet is headed What should Hailo build? with the line "Switch on what you want made. Each one opens its setup right here." Five switch rows follow. Each has a switch on the right and an Expand link that opens its settings under the row.

Classify + organize into moments

Turn this on to label every clip by moment and arrange them in your editor.

• Which moments happened at this wedding? A grid of moment chips; the ones you pick are the only ones Hailo uses. Click Select all to take them all, or pick a few. Click the dot on a selected chip to change its timeline color. The hint under the grid reads Pick at least one until you have. The full list is in Moments and labels.
• How should Hailo organize your clips in {editor}? The same four layouts as intake: Single timeline, Single timeline separated by parts of day, A timeline per category, Separated into bins (worded in your editor's own terms), with a small schematic showing the result. The note under the heading explains that Hailo reads every clip and sorts it by part of the day, and that this only sets how the clips are arranged when the project opens.

Drop shaky footage

Turn this on to trim each clip to its steady, sharp sections.

• How should Hailo trim your clips? The four trim modes described in Trimming shaky footage.
• Shortest section worth keeping: a slider from 1.5 to 5 seconds, starting at 1.5. The note reads "Anything shorter than this gets dropped, even if it's steady."

Build ceremony film

Turn this on for a recorder-synced ceremony edit. The note reads: "Hailo finds the ceremony, syncs every angle to the recorder audio, and lays them out as a multicam when there's more than one camera. Camera audio stays muted underneath."

Build speeches film

Turn this on for the toasts. The note reads: "Each toast is found, trimmed to where it starts and ends, and synced to the recorder audio. One film per speaker."

Build a blueprint film

Turn this on to refill one of your blueprints with this wedding's clips. Under Which blueprint? Hailo lists your blueprints (Looking for your blueprints… while it loads). The note reads: "Hailo re-cuts that blueprint's timeline using this wedding's clips, then renders a preview. It runs last, and it needs the moments pass, so switching this on switches that on too."

If the list cannot load you see "Couldn't load your blueprints." See Blueprints.

The ETA line and Start the build

The footer shows how long the whole pass should take. It reads Working out how long… while Hailo sizes the job, then Takes about {time} once it has an estimate. With every switch off it reads Nothing switched on yet followed by a prompt to pick at least one job above, and Start the build does nothing until you do.

Click Start the build. Hailo starts the analysis and every film you switched on at once, and the workspace shows the progress card. See The progress screen. Films that depend on the moments pass wait for it, and the blueprint runs last.

You can leave the Edit wing while it works. Closing Hailo stops the run; it resumes on its own next time you open.

Messages

• "Pick the folder your footage is in first.": you pressed Start the build before choosing a folder.
• "Pick the couple this footage belongs to first.": no couple is chosen.
• "Can't find the offloaded folder" followed by a prompt to open Start the edit and pick it manually: you arrived from an offload and the copied folder is no longer where it was (the drive was unplugged or renamed). Reconnect it, or use Start the edit and choose the folder by hand.
• "Nothing switched on yet": turn on at least one switch.

What you get back

Everything lands beside the wedding folder in a Hailo Edit folder (or in the library folder you chose in Settings): the sorted timeline, the trimmed timeline if you asked for trimming, the ceremony and speeches films, and the blueprint film with its preview. Each finished film also appears on the couple's Edit hub with Open in editor. See Where files land.
