Your editor and time tracking

Pick Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve, see how much you cut this week and grant the one-click multicam permission.

Settings > Your editor (the page is titled Editor & time tracking) is where you tell Hailo which app you cut in. That one choice sets the export format, the label colors, the "Open in" buttons across the Edit wing, and which app the menu bar time agent counts.

The rail row shows your current editor as its value, or "Choose your editor" if none is set.

Which editor do you cut in?

Three cards: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro. The one you picked during onboarding is highlighted.

  1. Click a card.
  2. A small Saved note appears. There is no Save button.

The change reaches the Edit wing right away. The menu bar time agent picks it up within a minute.

What follows the editor Detail
Timeline exports Every run exports in your editor's format.
Label colors Clip labels use the color set your editor understands.
"Open in" buttons Results and film screens offer Open in Premiere Pro, Open in Final Cut Pro or Open in DaVinci Resolve.
Time agent Only that app is counted as editing time.

You cannot leave the editor blank or pick "all editors". Sending an unknown choice shows "Unknown editor selection." and keeps the previous editor.

The 7-day breakdown

Under each card's name is how long that app was in front over the last seven days, for example "3h 20m this week", or "not tracked yet" when the agent has not seen it. The counts come from the menu bar time agent. See The menu bar time agent.

Multicam permission (Premiere Pro only)

When Premiere Pro is selected, a row appears under the cards. Hailo needs macOS Accessibility permission to click one menu item in Premiere when it builds a multicam clip for you. Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve read the multicam straight from the file, so the row does not show for them.

Row text Meaning
"Checking multicam permission" Hailo is asking macOS.
"One-click multicam is on. Hailo can build multicam clips in Premiere for you." Granted. Nothing to do.
"One-click multicam is off. Hailo needs permission to click one menu item in Premiere." Not granted yet. A Turn it on link appears.

Grant it

  1. Click Turn it on. The Mac's Privacy & Security > Accessibility pane opens.
  2. In that window, find Hailo and switch it on. If it is not listed, click + and pick Hailo from Applications.
  3. Return to Hailo. The row updates itself the moment the permission is granted.

The page keeps rechecking while the row shows "off", so there is nothing to refresh.

If it didn't work

  • The Saved note never appears. Click the card again. If nothing changes, check your connection.
  • The week counts stay at "not tracked yet". The menu bar agent must be running and the editor must have been the frontmost app. See The menu bar time agent.
  • The multicam row still says off after granting. Make sure it is the Hailo app you switched on in Accessibility, not another entry with a similar name, then quit and reopen Hailo.
  • The multicam row is missing. It only appears with Premiere Pro selected, on the desktop app.
