Connect Stripe

Take card and ACH payments from couples through your own Stripe account, with 0% taken by Hailo, and finish a setup Stripe left pending.

Connecting Stripe is how couples pay you by card or bank transfer. You connect your own Stripe account (or create one in about two minutes during setup), Hailo hosts the checkout, and the money goes to you. Hailo takes 0% of your payments. You keep every dollar minus Stripe's standard processing fee.

This is about payments your couples make to you. Your Hailo subscription is billed separately and has nothing to do with this tile. See The billing page.

What Stripe unlocks

  • Card and ACH payments on invoices.
  • Deposits paid from booking links.
  • Upsells bought from delivery pages.

After connecting, turn on Stripe under Settings > Client payment methods so invoices offer it. See Client payment methods.

Connect Stripe

  1. Open Settings > Integrations.
  2. On the Stripe (Payments) tile, click Connect Stripe →. A browser window opens on Stripe's setup form and Hailo shows "Stripe onboarding opened in your browser. Once you finish there, this page will update."
  3. Sign in to Stripe, or create an account. Stripe asks for your business details, identity verification and the bank account payouts go to.
  4. Finish Stripe's form and return to Hailo. The tile updates on its own.

The three states

Chip Meaning Actions on the tile
Connect Stripe → Not connected. Start setup.
Setup incomplete You started, but Stripe still needs something before charges turn on. The tile says "Almost there. Stripe needs a couple more details before charges turn on" and names bank account and identity verification. Resume Stripe setup → and Cancel setup.
Connected Charges are on. The tile reads Connected as your account and says couples can buy upsells from delivery pages and pay deposits from booking links. Open Stripe dashboard ↗ and Disconnect.

Finish a pending setup

  1. Click Resume Stripe setup →. Stripe's form opens where you left off.
  2. Provide what it asks for. Hailo shows "Stripe still needs a couple more details before charges turn on. Finish the form and we'll sync automatically." until Stripe is satisfied.
  3. When Stripe turns charges on, the tile changes to Connected and Hailo shows "Stripe Connect is live" and that you can take payments now.

Stripe sometimes reviews an account after you have filled everything in. The tile stays on Setup incomplete until that review finishes. Nothing more is needed from you in that case.

Cancel a setup and start over

Cancel setup asks "Cancel this Stripe setup and start over?" Confirming removes the pending connection so you can click Connect Stripe → again, for example to use a different Stripe account.

Disconnect Stripe

  1. Click Disconnect. Hailo asks "Disconnect Stripe? Existing orders stay intact but new charges pause until you reconnect."
  2. Confirm. Hailo shows "Stripe disconnected."

Payments already taken are unaffected. Invoices stop offering card payment until you connect again.

Fees

Hailo adds nothing. Stripe's processing fee comes out of each payment. If you want to pass that fee on to the couple, see Card fees.

If it didn't work

  • "This Stripe setup link has expired" with a prompt to open Integrations and resume setup. Stripe's setup links are short-lived. Click Resume Stripe setup → for a fresh one.
  • "No pending Stripe Connect onboarding to finish." You returned from Stripe but Hailo has no setup in progress. Click Connect Stripe → to start.
  • "Couldn't refresh Stripe Connect status:" followed by a reason. Hailo could not reach Stripe to check your account. Wait a moment and open Settings > Integrations again.
  • "Stripe isn't set up on the Hailo side yet". Stripe is not switched on for this copy of Hailo. Contact support.
  • The tile stays on "Setup incomplete" after you finished the form. Open Open Stripe dashboard ↗ (or dashboard.stripe.com) and look for anything Stripe still wants, such as a document for identity verification. If Stripe shows nothing outstanding, the account is under review and will flip on its own.
  • The waiting overlay never closes. It closes on any change of Stripe state, so check the tile. See Approving a connection in your browser.
