Finding your way around

Learn the top bar, the wing switcher, the sidebar in each wing, the dashboard tiles you can rearrange, and what a locked wing looks like.

Every Hailo screen shares the same frame: a top bar with the wing switcher, a sidebar on the left, and the page in the middle. Once you know the frame, every wing feels the same.

The top bar

From left to right:

Control What it does
Hailo mark Takes you home to the dashboard
Manage / Edit / Deliver The wing switcher. Click a wing to move to it. The active wing is lit
Search with the ⌘K hint Opens quick search. See Search
Uploads pill Appears only while films are uploading. Click it to open the Uploads panel and watch progress. It stays with you as you move around Hailo. When nothing is in flight the panel reads "Nothing uploading."
Offline pill Appears when the connection drops. It reads "No internet - reconnecting". Its tooltip: "No internet connection. Your work and any running analysis continue; Hailo reconnects on its own."

The Edit wing's progress bar

While an analysis runs, the Edit tile in the switcher carries a thin progress bar. It keeps moving while you work in Manage or Deliver, so you can answer a lead and glance up to see how far the footage has got. The bell tells you when it finishes.

The menu opens with your workspace name and email at the top, then:

Some accounts also see an Admin item and a Restart onboarding item marked Dev. Those are for Hailo's own use; most studios never see them.

The sidebar

The sidebar has two zones and a footer.

The spine

Three items appear in every wing: Dashboard, Clients and Calendar. Wherever you are, they are one click away.

The wing section

Below a divider, the items change with the wing:

Edit Nothing at first. Clicking Edit in the top bar lands you on the Edit home. Once you have started projects, a Projects tile appears; click it to open a list of your weddings and jump into one
Deliver Templates, Deliveries

Finance opens the revenue overview. Proposals and invoices are reached from the tabs on that page, and the Finance tile stays lit on all three.

There is no Inbox item. Email lives on the lead or client it belongs to.

Rearranging the dashboard

The dashboard tiles can be reordered and hidden, and the arrangement follows you to any Mac you sign in from.

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the dashboard grid and click Widgets.
  2. The tiles start to jiggle and a hint appears: "Drag to rearrange · click × to hide · tap Done when finished".
  3. Press and hold a tile, then drag it to where you want it. The other tiles flow out of the way.
  4. Click the × on a tile to hide it. Hidden tiles appear in the Add widgets tray under the grid; click one to bring it back.
  5. Click Done.

Your layout saves as you go. See Dashboard for what each tile shows.

Locked wings

If your plan does not include a wing, the wing still shows in the switcher. Hovering it shows "Not included in your plan", and clicking it opens the page dimmed behind a card. The card names the wing, offers Unlock Full Access with the monthly difference to the plan that includes it, and a Back to Edit link. You can look, but nothing on a locked wing can be changed until the plan includes it. See Locked wings.

If it didn't work

The sidebar's wing section is empty. You are in Edit with no projects yet. Start one from the Edit home.

A tile will not drag. You are not in organize mode. Click Widgets first; tiles only move while they are jiggling.

Privacy, Terms or Contact opened inside Hailo and there is no way back. Those links are meant to open a browser window. Click the Hailo mark or a wing to return. If it happens again, send a note from Feedback.

The Update tile never appears. Manage and Deliver update on their own with no new version. The tile only appears when a new build of the app itself is ready.
