Choosing what to run
Tick the jobs you want, answer the questions that follow, and start the run from the intake screen.
After Hailo has read your folder (and, for multi-day weddings, after you have confirmed the days), intake asks what it should do with the footage. You tick the jobs, answer only the questions those jobs need, and press start. This article covers every screen from the checklist to the start button.
What should Hailo do with this footage?
The checklist has four rows. Each has a checkbox and an Adjust link that opens that job's settings under the row.

Adjust: what each job's panel holds
- Label the moments of the day: shows Moment set: Standard wedding and lists the set (prep, first look, ceremony, portraits, speeches, dancing, details and venue). Open full setup opens the moment picker where you change the set or add your own moments.
- Trim out the shaky footage: How strict? with three choices, Lenient, Balanced (the default) and Strict. The note under it explains the current choice; for Balanced it reads "Balanced splits each clip into its good sections and drops the rest."
- Put together the ceremony film: the note reads "Hailo finds the ceremony, syncs every camera to your recorder audio, and lays them out as a multicam when there's more than one angle. Camera audio stays muted underneath."
- Put together the speech films: the note reads "Each toast is found, trimmed to where it starts and ends, and synced to the recorder audio, one film per speaker."
The footer shows an estimated time and the number of jobs. Click Next.
You cannot continue with nothing ticked. The screen shows Pick at least one and explains that otherwise there is nothing to run.
Which questions appear
Hailo only asks the questions your choices need, and Back never lands you on a skipped screen.

A trim-only run goes from the checklist straight to Trimming; a labels-only run never sees Trimming. The film jobs add no questions of their own; they start at minute zero of the run and are set up from the checklist notes.
Every question screen carries the run-context row: the couple, the clip count, the folder, and Start over. When you came back to a run in progress it also reads Picking up where you left off.
What moments do you want to track?
The help line reads "Only the ones you pick will be used. Click the dot on a selected label to change its timeline color."
- Click chips to turn moments on and off. Select all turns everything on; it becomes Clear all once everything is selected. The hint under the grid reads Pick at least one until you have, then "N selected".
- Moments with sub-moments expand: Prep into Bride Prep and Groom Prep; First Look into First Look, Engagement and Private Vows; Portrait into Couple Portraits, Family Portraits, Bridal Party and Individuals; Dancing into Formal Dances and Open Dancing.
- At the bottom, a Did these happen? Pick the ones that apply group holds First Look, Private Vows and Formal Dances. Selecting one is the "yes"; Hailo then knows to look for it.
- Click the colored dot on a selected chip to pick that moment's timeline color from your editor's palette.

How should Hailo organize your clips in your editor?
The heading names your editor, and the wording follows it: Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve speak in timelines and bins, Final Cut Pro in projects and keyword collections. A sentence under the heading explains what Hailo does with the clips and asks the question.

Detail shots: where should they end up?
The line under the heading lists what counts: "Table settings, florals, signage, place cards, rings." Two cards:
- In story order, titled Keep them in the story (the default): detail shots sit with the ceremony and reception they belong to.
- Grouped, titled Pull them into Details: every detail shot lands together as its own group.
Each card carries a sentence saying exactly where the shots land given the layout you chose on the previous screen, so you can see both outcomes before you click.

How should Hailo trim your clips?
A multi-select list:

| Give me all usable, non-shaky footage (default) | Removes the obviously shaky or unusable sections and keeps everything else. |
| Split multiple good takes within a clip | When a file has more than one good take between shaky parts, each take becomes its own piece. |
| Only give me the best take per file | Keeps the single smoothest, sharpest section of each file. |
Trim aggressiveness
A slider from Keep more through Balanced to Cut more. The help line reads "Controls how aggressively we cut shaky or out-of-focus footage." It starts in the middle.
Shortest clip you'd ever use?
A slider from 1.5 s to 5 s in half-second steps, starting at 1.5 s. "Anything shorter than this gets dropped."

The start dock
The last question you answer ends in the start button rather than Next.
The button reads Start processing, or Start processing · ~N tokens when the run will spend tokens, or Nothing to process (disabled) when the scan found nothing to work on.
The line under it is one of three:
- "Trimming runs on this Mac. No analysis, no tokens." (labeling is off)
- "All N clips are routed" followed by no analysis, no tokens (every folder was labeled long-form, drone, action camera or excluded)
- "N tokens left this month · resets {date}"
Two warnings can appear above the button:
- "There are no clips to analyze." Go back and pick the folder this wedding's footage is in; if you already did, Hailo found no video or audio inside it.
- "This run needs about N tokens" and how many you have left, with the advice to split the drop into smaller runs or wait for your reset date. The run can still start; Hailo pauses it before the token-spending step if the balance runs out. See Tokens and run cost.
Click Start processing. The intake screen switches to the processing view and the workspace shows the progress card. See The progress screen.
Troubleshooting
The Trimming screen never appeared. Trimming was unticked on the checklist. Go back with Back (or Start over) and tick it.
The moments screen never appeared. Labeling was unticked; a trim-only run has no moments to pick.
The detail-shots question never appeared. It only shows when Detail is one of the selected moments.
