Deleting a project
Take a project off Edit or delete its analysis, stop a live run, and relink a project whose drive was renamed.
Deleting in Edit only ever touches Hailo's own analysis of the footage. Your video files, the couple's record, and everything in Manage and Deliver are never affected. This article covers each place you can delete from and what each choice removes.
Nothing in Edit deletes video. The footage folder, the cards, and the timelines already exported to your editor stay exactly where they are.
From the launchpad
- Hover the couple's tile and click the X (Delete project).
- The dialog Remove this project from Edit? opens, with the line "Your video files, the client, and everything in Manage and Deliver stay untouched either way."
- Choose one:

Click Cancel, press Escape or click outside the dialog to keep everything.
Both choices remove the tile everywhere, so a deleted tile does not reappear when the launchpad reloads. If the couple has more than one analysis, they are all covered.
From the couple's Edit hub
Open the ... menu on the Footage analysis card and choose Delete this analysis. This removes the analysis (the clip labels, the trimming, the timeline record) and unlinks the couple. The couple's films are kept, and the footage is never touched. The analysis record is archived rather than destroyed, so it can be recovered by support if you delete the wrong one.
To delete a film, open the ... menu on that film's card and choose Delete this film. Only Hailo's record of the film is removed; the exported timeline in the Hailo Edit folder stays.
From a live run
At the bottom of the progress card, the button reads Stop and delete this analysis while a run is going. Click it and an inline question appears: "Stop the run and delete it? Everything worked out so far goes. Your footage stays where it is." Click Delete to stop the run and delete it, or Keep it. This is the way out of a run you no longer want; there is no separate stop button, because a stopped run leaves you with a half-state to reason about, and a deleted one does not.
On a finished project the same button reads Delete this analysis and asks: "Delete it? The clips, the labels and the timeline all go. Your footage stays where it is."
What is never touched
- The video and audio files.
- The couple in Manage (contacts, contracts, invoices, email).
- Galleries and films in Deliver.
- Timelines already exported into your editor.
Relink a project after a drive is renamed
If you open a project and its footage folder cannot be found (the drive was renamed, the folder moved), Hailo shows the Relink project dialog: "This project's footage folder can't be found. The drive may have been renamed or the folder moved." with the missing path under it.
- Plug the drive in, or move the folder back, if you can. Then click Cancel and open the project again.
- Otherwise click Locate Folder… and pick the footage folder in its new place. Hailo relinks the project and everything (labels, corrections, trimming) carries over.
Do not rename or move the folder Hailo created next to your footage, or Hailo will not find the project again and it can no longer be resumed.
Troubleshooting
The tile came back after I deleted it. Open the couple's hub and use Delete this analysis there; that clears every copy of the link. If it still returns, send feedback.
I deleted the analysis but the run kept going. Use Stop and delete this analysis on the progress card, which stops the live run first. Deleting from the hub also stops a run that belongs to that couple.
Relink cannot find my folder. The picker needs the top-level wedding folder, the one that contains the folder Hailo created. If that folder was deleted, the analysis is gone; drop the footage again to start over.
