Brand colours on a gallery

Override your studio colours for one gallery and understand how each look uses them.

Every gallery takes its colours from your studio brand. The Brand panel lets you change them for one gallery only. Each look spends the two colours differently and names them accordingly.

Open the panel

Click Brand in the rail. The panel is titled Colors (or Color for a look with one).

The lead depends on the look. For most looks: "Override the colors for this delivery only. Leave them alone to use your studio brand from Settings. Changes show in the preview as you pick." For Cinematic and Heritage: "Override the colors for this delivery only. Leave them alone and this look keeps its own palette. Changes show in the preview as you pick."

The two colours

Hailo stores a primary and an accent colour per gallery. Each row has a swatch and a hex field (#RRGGBB). Under each row a line tells you where the colour is coming from:

Line Meaning
Using your studio color No override; the studio brand colour is in use.
Using the template color No override; this look's own palette is in use.
Reset to studio brand An override is set. Click to remove it.
Reset to the template color An override is set. Click to remove it.

How each look names the colours

Look Row labels Without an override
Gallery Accent Your studio primary, else champagne
Atelier Gold Your studio primary, else a soft gold
Cinematic Gold Its own palette (your studio colour is not used)
Heritage Sage, Champagne Its own palette (your studio colour is not used)
Liquid Glass Accent, Accent soft Your studio colours, else ice blue
Editorial, Minimal, Storybook Primary, Accent Your studio colours, else ice blue

The panel footnote: "Logo, fonts, and custom domain are still studio-wide for now. Edit those in Settings." See Logo and colours.

If it didn't work

  • "color must be a #RRGGBB hex": type six hex digits after the #, for example #7FB3E0, or clear the field.
  • The cover tint or the splash accent did not change. Those two pick up the colour when the page is served. Reload the editor or check the couple's page.
  • Cinematic or Heritage ignores your studio colour. Expected; those looks keep their own palette unless you type an override here.
