Editing time
See the hours you spend in your editor, what each film really earns per hour, and link editor projects to weddings.
Editing time turns the hours you spend in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve into a rate per wedding. Hailo's tracker watches which project is open; you link each project to a wedding once and the rest is automatic.
Open the page
Click the Edit time widget on the dashboard, or All editing → on a client's Financials tab. The page is headed "Editing time" and "Your hours, your real rate." with the line "Every hour in your NLE, mapped to the weddings you booked."
The live pill
Next to the heading, a pill reads Live (green, pulsing) while an editor is open and tracking, with the tooltip "An editor is open and tracking right now", or Idle with "No NLE active". It refreshes on its own.
KPIs
| KPI | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Tracked · 30 days | Hours in your editor over the last 30 days. |
| Blended rate | Total booked value of the films you edited divided by the hours on them. |

Billable by film
A table with Film, Last 30 days, Booked, Hours and Rate. Rate is the booked amount divided by every hour ever tracked on that film. Before anything is linked it reads "No billable films yet." and tells you to link a Premiere, Final Cut or DaVinci project to a wedding.
Where you edit
"Active editing time by NLE · last 30 days": how your hours split across editors.
Link an editor project
- Click Link NLE project.
- The dialog "Point an editor project at a wedding" explains: "Hailo detects the projects you open in Premiere, Final Cut, and DaVinci. Link one to a booked wedding once. Every hour after that counts toward its hours and rate automatically."
- Under Detected, click Link on a project the tracker has seen and choose the wedding.
- Or under Add one manually, drop the project file on "Drag a project here, or browse Finder" and click Link.
The table updates without leaving the page.
The Edit time widget
On the dashboard, the widget shows the same data in a smaller space. Switch the range with 1D, 7D, 30D or 1Y. A pulse shows when the tracker reported in the last two minutes. The ledger lists your top three projects and an "Unlinked NLE time" row for hours on projects you have not linked yet. "No editing in this window" means the tracker is fine and you did not edit; a separate message appears when the tracker has never reported at all.
Troubleshooting
The pill says Idle while my editor is open. The tracker is not running. See Your editor and time tracking and The menu bar time agent.
A project is not under Detected. Open it in your editor for a minute and reopen the dialog, or add it manually.
Rate looks wrong. Rate divides the booked amount by all hours on the film, not the last 30 days. Check the booking total on the client's Financials tab.
