Plans and pricing

Compare the Edit, Studio and Pro plans, see what "hours of footage" counts, and learn what early access accounts get.

Hailo sells three plans. Each one is a monthly or yearly subscription with a set number of hours of footage, ceremony and speeches builds, Blueprint builds, Ask Hailo questions and delivery storage. This page lists what each plan includes and how the numbers are counted, so you can pick the right one on the pricing page or under Settings > Hailo Billing.

Note

The plan you buy is the plan you keep. If a price or limit changes later, your account stays on the terms you bought until you switch plans or cancel. See Locked terms.

The three plans

Edit Studio Pro

Blueprint builds a month 10 20 60
Ask Hailo questions a month Not included 750 2,000
Delivery a month Not included 100 GB 200 GB
Blurb on the plan card The footage engine on its own. One filmmaker running the whole business. Every wing, at the volume a full season needs.

Annual billing is 15% off, paid up front for the year. On the billing page the annual figure is always quoted at today's rate, even on the plan you are already on, because switching billing period is a new purchase.

What each plan is for

  • Edit is for filmmakers who already have a CRM and a delivery service they like and only want the footage engine. It sorts every clip by moment, trims shaky sections, syncs multicam, builds speech and ceremony films and Blueprint edits, and opens in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Manage and Deliver are not included, so there is no Ask Hailo and no delivery storage on this plan.
  • Studio is everything in Edit plus the Manage wing (leads, contracts, invoices, calendar, email) and the Deliver wing (galleries for the couple). For most studios this is the plan.
  • Pro is Studio at season volume: twice the footage, twice the delivery, twice the ceremony and speeches builds, and three times the Blueprint builds.

What "hours of footage" counts

Hailo counts only the footage it analyzes: the handheld clips, the ones you would otherwise scrub through one at a time. These are free and do not count against your hours:

  • Cameras you set down and left running, such as a locked-off ceremony or reception angle.
  • Drone footage.
  • Action camera footage.
  • Any folder you exclude from a project.

A wedding is usually 2 to 3 hours of handheld footage, which is where the "about N weddings at 2.5 hours each" line on each plan card comes from. Hailo shows you the exact figure before an analysis starts, and you can set the longest take it should look at. See Tokens and run cost for how a run is priced before you press Analyze.

Two more rules that matter:

  • A run that is already going always finishes, even if it crosses your limit part way through.
  • No build costs hours. A ceremony film, a speeches film and a Blueprint edit are all assembled from footage Hailo has already read, so each one comes out of its own monthly build allowance and none of them touch your footage hours.

Need more in a busy month

Every plan can buy a top-up: 2.5 hours of footage for $25, about one more wedding. Bought hours never expire and are used after your monthly hours run out. The top-up is priced above every plan's own per-hour rate on purpose, so if you buy top-ups regularly you are better off moving up a plan. See Buy more hours.

Delivery has its own pack: 100 GB for $59, about three more weddings in 4K. Bought delivery never expires and is used only after your monthly room is gone. See Buy more delivery.

Can you buy one wing on its own

  • Edit on its own: yes. That is the $69 plan.
  • Deliver on its own: no. A delivery gallery leans on the CRM behind it: the gallery knows which project it belongs to, and the CRM knows when a film was viewed. Deliver comes with Studio and Pro.
  • Manage on its own: no. Manage comes with Studio and Pro.

If you open a wing your plan does not include, Hailo shows the screen dimmed behind an upgrade card. See Locked wings.

What early access accounts get

Invite-only early access accounts are free while the program lasts. The billing page shows an Early access chip and the line "Free while you're on early access. The limits below are enforced." The allowances are:

Early access
Price $0
Wings Manage, Edit and Deliver
Hours of footage a month 4 hours
Ceremony builds a month 2
Speeches builds a month 2
Blueprint builds a month 5
Ask Hailo questions a month 50
Delivery storage 10 GB

These limits are real: when a meter fills, that feature pauses until the month rolls over. An early access account can move to a paid plan at any time with the Choose Edit, Choose Studio or Choose Pro button on the billing page.

The free trial

Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial. Hailo takes a card up front so the trial rolls into your plan with no interruption. Nothing is charged until day 4, and you can cancel before then at no cost. See The free trial.

Note

Every plan starts with a 3-day trial, Pro included, whether you buy from the pricing page or from inside the app. The trial includes 2.5 hours of footage analysis on every tier; the plan you pick decides what you get from day 4. See Start your free trial.

Payments from your couples are separate

None of this touches the money your couples pay you. Card and bank payments on your invoices run through your own Stripe or Square account, and Hailo takes 0% of them. The billing page reminds you of this at the bottom: "Looking for the payment rails your clients use? That's Payouts. This page is only your Hailo subscription." See Client payment methods.
