What the couple sees on the booking page
The Review, Sign, Questions and Pay steps on the one link, every payment method's wording, and what Hailo records when the couple opens it.
The booking page is the one link you send from the Booking tab. The couple opens it in a browser and walks through it top to bottom. This article describes their side.
The steps strip
At the top: Review, Sign, Questions, Pay. Only the steps you turned on exist; a step you switched off is not there at all rather than empty. Finished steps stay clickable so the couple can look back.
When you open the link yourself from Open ↗, a banner reads "Preview · the couple sees this exact page when they open your link". Nothing you do in preview is recorded.
Review
The proposal's line items with Subtotal and Total. If you set aside add-ons, an "Anything else?" card follows: "Optional extras your filmmaker has set aside for you. Check anything you'd like. The total updates as you go." The couple ticks what they want and clicks Save selections.
Sign
Headed "Review and sign" with "Read through, then sign your name to confirm. We'll be notified the moment you sign." The contract text sits above.
- Sign in the pad.
- Type in Full legal name (placeholder "Your full name here").
- Tick "I agree that my signature above is my legal electronic signature, and that I have read and accept the contract terms above."
- Click Sign and continue. It stays disabled until all three are done.
A sticky bar at the bottom reads "One signature to go" with Sign the contract → while the contract is unsigned. After signing, a Download your signed contract (PDF) link appears. If no contract is attached the step reads "No contract attached yet".
Questions
Headed "So we can plan the day" with "These help us hit the ground running. Most couples breeze through in 3 minutes." The questions are a snapshot taken when you published, so later edits to the questionnaire template do not change what this couple is asked. The couple clicks Save answers (later Update answers).
Pay
Until the contract is signed the step reads "Sign the contract above to unlock payment." Then: "Choose how you'd like to pay:" and one row per method you turned on.

Every manual method ends with an optional note (placeholder "e.g. Sent from @client-handle") and I sent it →. Each method has a Choose different method link.
"I sent it" moves no money. It records the couple's claim, sets the booking to "Client marked paid, needs your confirm" and notifies you. Confirm the payment on the Booking tab once the money arrives. Card payments through Stripe or Square confirm on their own.

A card method appears only when it is both connected and switched on under Settings > Client payment methods. The page footer reads "powered by Hailo".
What Hailo records
- First open. The booking's status moves from sent to viewed, the view count goes up, and "Client opened booking link" is written once to the lead's Activity rail. Your own preview opens are not counted.
- Draft links show nothing. Until you publish, a couple opening the link gets a not-found page. Preview from the Booking tab still works.
- Cancelled bookings show a gone page.
- Hold the date only matters before signing. Once the couple has signed, the page keeps working past the date so an in-flight deposit is never blocked.
Troubleshooting
The couple cannot click Sign and continue. All three are needed: a signature in the pad, a full name, and the consent box.
The Pay step is empty. No method is both connected and switched on. See Client payment methods.
The couple paid by Venmo but the booking still says draft or live. They did not click I sent it, or you have not confirmed it yet. Confirm the payment on the Booking tab.
