Publish a gallery
Turn the couple's link on, mark the project delivered, and take a gallery down again.
Publishing turns the couple's link on. It does not send anything; you do that next, from the Share panel or the toast that appears after publishing.
Publish
- In the editor, click Publish at the top right.
- The Publish this gallery? dialog explains: "This turns the link on. Nothing reaches the couple until you send it. You can do that as soon as it's live. Edit anytime; the published page updates with your changes."
- The dialog shows the link with a Copy button.
- Leave Mark project as delivered ticked (it is on by default) or untick it. Its caption: "Drops it from 'On the bench' on your dashboard."
- Click Publish. Cancel closes the dialog.
The success toast
Published. "The link is live. Send it when you're ready." with three buttons:
- Send to couple opens the email compose sheet. See Email the couple.
- Copy link copies the link.
- Back to Deliver returns to the launchpad.
The Publish button becomes a pill reading Published ·
What "Mark project as delivered" changes in Manage
With the box ticked, publishing also:
- stamps the project as delivered and takes it off On the bench on your dashboard;
- moves the deal along and, if the balance is paid, can mark it complete;
- sets the client's status to Delivered;
- runs any automation you have set to fire on delivery.
You also get a notification: "Delivery published:
Untick the box if the project should stay open, for example when this gallery is a teaser and the full film is still to come. See Mark delivered.
The guard: no film yet
A gallery cannot be published until at least one film has landed. Depending on the state you see one of:
- "Your film is still being prepared. Publish will be ready the moment it lands on the page." A film is uploading or still being prepared. Wait for its card in the Films panel to clear.
- "Add a film before publishing. This delivery has no video yet." Nothing has been uploaded. Add one in the Films panel.
A gallery that is already published is not affected by this guard.
Unpublish
- Click the Published ·
pill. - Click Unpublish.
- The Unpublish this delivery? dialog says: "Your couple won't be able to see this until you publish again. All your edits stay saved."
- Click Unpublish (red). Cancel keeps it live.
The link now shows the couple Not ready just yet (see What the couple sees). Downloads stop too. The project stays marked delivered, because the film did ship. Publish again at any time; the link is the same.
If it didn't work
- Publish is greyed or refuses. See the guard above; a film has to land first.
- You published but the couple sees "Not ready just yet". Check the pill reads Published. If you unpublished and republished, ask them to reload.
- The dashboard still shows the project on the bench. The box was unticked when you published. Mark the project delivered from its record in Manage.
