Correcting a label
Change a clip's moment with one click and know that your correction survives every later pass and re-analysis.
Hailo labels every main-footage clip with a moment, and it will get some wrong. Fixing one takes a click, the timeline updates on its own, and the fix is permanent: no later pass, re-run or re-analysis will undo it.
Change a clip's moment
- In the clip grid, click the clip's moment badge. Or right-click the card and choose Change moment….
- The moment picker opens at the cursor, showing the moments you chose at intake (not the whole default set).
- Click the right moment. One click commits it; there is no confirm step and nothing to fill in.
The badge updates, gains an outline to mark it as your correction, and the timeline re-exports in the background so your editor's next import reflects the change. You can watch the re-export in the status line under the re-export controls.
What Hailo does with your correction
- The correction is stored beside the clip, along with what the label was before (you can see both in Why Hailo labeled this).
- Your correction sticks. It survives every later pass, every re-run and a full re-analysis, including a correction you make while a run is still going.
- Re-analyze from scratch recomputes every other label but keeps yours. See Re-analyzing.
- Hailo does not need a reason from you, and the correction does not by itself change how Hailo labels other clips.
Non-wedding days
On a multi-day project, a clip from a rehearsal dinner, welcome party or brunch is labeled with the general set (Establishing, Couple, Guests, Candid, Portrait, Activity, Speeches, Dining, Detail, Unclassified). The picker offers that set for those clips, so you are never asked to call a rehearsal-dinner clip "Ceremony". See Multi-day weddings.
Correcting several clips at once
Use the right-click menu to show the takes from the same setup, so you see the clips shot around the same time, then correct them one after another. The picker stays one click per clip.
Troubleshooting
The picker does not show the moment I want. The picker shows the moments you selected at intake. Open Why Hailo labeled this to confirm, then either pick Miscellaneous (always available) or re-run intake with the missing moment ticked.
The timeline in my editor still shows the old label. Re-import the timeline; the file was rewritten when you corrected the clip. If the status line shows the re-export failed, click Export on the toolbar.
My correction disappeared. It should not; corrections are re-applied at every save. If it happens, send feedback with the clip's filename and the build log.
