Deliver

The Films panel

Rename films, set their kind, pick thumbnails, reorder them, choose the main film and delete a film for good.

The Films panel lists every film on the page, in the order the couple sees them. The film at the top is the main film. Use the panel to rename, label, reorder, re-thumbnail and, if you must, delete a film.

Open the panel

Click Films in the rail. The panel is titled Films on this page. With nothing on the page and nothing on its way it reads No films yet. Upload one to get started.

A film card

Part What you can do
Thumbnail Click the three-dot button (Thumbnail options) for the menu below.
Name Click to rename (tooltip Click to rename, placeholder Name this film…). The pencil beside it is a reminder that the name is editable; the name is not the film's type.
Kind chip Click to change the film's kind (tooltip Change film type).
4K line What the film's 4K copy is doing. See 4K and quality.
x On extra films only: removes the film from this page. The main film is deleted from its thumbnail menu instead.
Grip Appears once there is more than one film. Drag to reorder.

Kinds

Kind Use it for
Feature The main film.
Teaser A short trailer.
Highlight The highlight film.
Ceremony The full ceremony.
Dances First dance and parent dances.
Speeches Toasts and speeches.
Other Anything else.

Films that came from the Edit wing as a raw ceremony or a Blueprint show a grey chip.

Reorder films

  1. Press and hold the grip on a card.
  2. Drag it to its new place and let go.

The tooltip on the main film's grip reads Drag down to hand the top spot to another film; on the others it reads Drag to reorder. Dropping a film onto the top spot asks whether to make it the main film (see below).

The thumbnail menu

Click the three dots on a thumbnail. The same menu opens from the film's tile in the page.

Item What it does
Pick a frame from this film Scrub to a frame and use it as the thumbnail.
Upload an image (or Replace with an image) Use your own picture as the thumbnail.
Make this the main film Extras only. Moves this film to the top.
Delete this film In red, below a rule. Removes the film for good; see below.

Make a film the main film

  1. Open the film's thumbnail menu and click Make this the main film.
  2. A sheet titled Make this the main film? explains: "The one at the top now moves down with the others."
  3. Click Make it main. Leave it cancels.

Changing the main film reloads the editor. If a film is still uploading, Hailo refuses rather than lose it:

"That film is still uploading. Changing the main film reloads the editor, which would cancel it. Wait for it to finish first."

If you drop a film that is still uploading onto the top spot, Hailo asks Make this the main film when it finishes uploading? and does it the moment the film lands.

If the change went through while another upload was running you see: "Main film changed. The rest of the page catches up once the upload still running finishes and you reload."

Preparing cards

A film that is uploading or still being prepared shows as a greyed card with a status line and a progress bar:

Line Meaning
Uploading… The transfer is running.
Preparing 4K NN% Uploaded; the quality copies are being made.
Upload stopped · NN% sent Nothing has arrived for five minutes. It cannot resume.
Could not prepare this film. or a specific reason It could not be prepared. Discard the upload and try again.

On a stopped card an x appears with the tooltip Discard this upload. The name and chip are disabled until the film lands (Renaming unlocks when the film lands, Set when the film lands). Full detail in Upload films.

Delete a film

Heads up

Deleting a film is the one action in Deliver that cannot be undone. Deleting a whole gallery keeps its films for 30 days; deleting a film removes it with no copy left in Hailo. Keep your own export.

  1. Open the film's thumbnail menu and click Delete this film.
  2. The Delete this film? dialog explains the consequence.
  3. Type DELETE in the field under Type DELETE to confirm.
  4. Click Delete film. It stays disabled until you have typed the word.

Removing an extra with its x takes it off this page without the confirmation.

If it didn't work

  • The panel says "No films yet" but you uploaded one. If the film was still on its way when you reopened Hailo, wait for the preparing card to appear; the panel reads promised films from the server. If it says Upload stopped, discard and upload again.
  • You cannot rename a film. It has not landed yet. Wait for the status line to clear.
  • "That film is still uploading. Changing the main film reloads the editor..." Wait for the upload to finish, then try again.
  • The couple sees films in the old order. Ask them to reload the page.
Still stuck? Send a note from the contact page and a real person at Hailo answers. Include the studio name you signed up with and, if it is about a specific screen, what you clicked.
